This aptly-named heirloom dates back to the turn of the 20th century. Its slim, tapered white roots taste mild and crisp and can reach five or six inches long. This variety, which prefers cool weather, is easy to grow and matures rapidly.
- 200 seeds minimum
- Germination: 3-6 days
- Maturity: 25-30 days
- Direct sow ½” deep and 1” apart in full sun/partial shade as soon as soil can be worked. Thin seedlings to 2-3 inches apart.
- Plant again in late summer for a fall harvest.
