Tondo di Piacenza Zucchini
I first ordered this squash from Annie's about 10 years ago and fell in love with it. Never had any problems with disease and each plant provides an abundance of delicious squash. We usually pick when they are about the same size as a softball. To prepare we cut the cap off scoop out the insides , but don't get the sides too thin . Then mix the insides with meat of choice and precooked rice. Parboil the squash then stuff them with your ingredients and bake to your liking. Delicious with ground beef, turkey, or sausage top with tomato sauce and cheese or you could even top with your favorite salsa.

keeps on producing
We did not have any disease/bug issues with this summer squash. The round shape was very nice for stuffing them with meat/rice and baking them. They are more attractive for dinner with friends this way, since each person gets a "half" that sits nicely on the plate. When very small, we made a sweet and tangy pickle with them as well.

Surprisingly good
These guys are delicious, we had lots and lots and didn't have any problem eating batch after batch of sautéed squash, so good that just a bit of salt and olive oil and you are good.
