This multipurpose heirloom produces a large ivory taproot topped with an abundance of tender leafy greens. Roast these sweet, lush beets or process them for sugar. Greens are delicious raw in salads or gently sautéed. Long storing and fun to grow.
- 200 seeds minimum
- Germination: 5-10 days
- Maturity: 90-100 days
- Direct sow ½” deep in full sun as soon as soil can be worked.
- Sow 12-15 seeds per foot; thin to 3" apart when seedlings are 1-2" tall. Plant rows 12" apart.
- Plant again in late summer for a fall harvest.
