This statuesque wildflower, native to North America, is also known as Gayfeather. Mid-to-late summer, pollen-rich purple flowers explode like sparklers on 4’ tall, spiked stems, attracting pollinators and delighting flower lovers. Plant in full sun.

- For spring planting, mix seeds in moist sand and refrigerate for 50-60 days, then sow indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost, covering lightly and exposing to sunlight. After last frost, harden off and transplant to garden. For fall planting, direct sow after first frost, covering lightly with soil.
