A self-balancing French variety with long leaves that offer excellent sun protection. This fast-growing variety develops 6” snowy white heads weighing 3-5 pounds. Mature heads can linger in the garden, so you won’t have to rush your harvest. Crisp and tender with a nutty, sweet flavor.
- 100 seeds minimum
- Germination: 4-10 days
- Maturity: 70-80 days
- Direct sow ¼” deep outdoors 6-8 weeks before last frost date or indoors in early winter for spring transplant. Repeat in midsummer for an autumn harvest. Plant or transplant in direct sun.
- Space plants 18-24” apart in rows 2 ½-3’ apart.
- Requires cool temperatures and consistent moisture. Mulching helps.
