Despite its regal name, the Ruby Queen is no primadonna. This rich, red beet thrives in cooler temperatures and can tolerate poor soil or crowded plots. Count on it to produce round and tender, almost string-free roots.
- 200 seeds minimum
- Germination: 5-10 days
- Maturity: 55-60 days
- Direct sow ½” deep in full sun as soon as soil can be worked.
- Sow 12-15 seeds per foot; thin to 3" apart when seedlings are 1-2" tall. Plant rows 12" apart.
- Plant again in late summer for a fall harvest.
