Roselle Hibiscus (Hibiscus sabdariffa) Perennial
Also known as Red Hibiscus or Asian Sour Leaf, this tropical perennial is not frost hardy but can be grown as an annual in cooler climates. Roselle is an African heirloom yielding heaps of tart, ruby calyces used in preserves, teas, medicinal applications, and much more. Enjoy Roselle’s tasty leaves as you would spinach. Perennial plants can reach 6’ tall.

- Direct sow ¼” deep in full sun after last frost or start indoors 6 weeks before last frost, taking care to slowly harden seedlings before transplanting.
