Red Malabar (Basella rubra)
This beautiful Asian heirloom is a green, not a true spinach! Red Malabar’s rambling red vines are covered with glossy green leaves that are tender and delicious in summer juices, salads, sandwiches, stir-fries, and wraps. Purply black berries are often used as a natural dye. Vines reach 8-10’ long. Support is required.
