A compact variety developed by the University of Massachusetts in the early 1950s, Waltham 29 produces tight, crisp heads with bright, sweet flavor. Delicious roasted, grilled, blanched, and sautéed!
- 150 seeds minimum
- Germination: 7-14 days
- Maturity: 85-90 days
- Direct sow outdoors ¼” deep 2-4 weeks before last frost date or indoors in early winter for spring transplant. Repeat in midsummer for an autumn harvest. Plant or transplant in direct sun.
- Space plants 18-24” apart in rows 2 ½-3’ apart.
