needs a drip line
These tomatoes are so delicious for making sauce, but I found they got blossom rot really easily - none of my other varieties had this problem but we lost nearly all our San Marzanos to it. I'd suggest you be sure to have a drip line for consistent watering. If you can do it the flavor in your pizza or pasta sauce will be worth it!

great producer
I grow three to four mainstay tomato plants each year. They are Rio Grande, Amana Orange, and San Marzano. The San Marzano are a great choice for sauces and even salsa.
