This hard red heritage spring variety was first grown by David Fife in Canada in the 1800s. Red Fife grows to 3-5’ depending on soil fertility. Coveted for its rich flavor – sweet with subtle cinnamon notes. In moderate climates, Red Fife can also be grown in the fall.
- 1/2 pound of seeds minimum
- Germination: 3-4 days
- Maturity: 110-125 days
- Broadcast in full sun around last frost date.
- Loosen soil before scattering 30-40 seeds per square foot; plant 1" deep.
