A fast-growing variety with long white shanks that reach up to 12” at maturity. Sweet, mild onion flavor. King Richard tolerates light frost but will not overwinter. For extra sweet baby leeks, harvest at finger length.
- 100 seeds minimum
- Germination: 5-10 days
- Maturity: 75 days from transplant
- Direct sow 1/8” deep in full sun as soon as soil can be worked. In northern climates, start indoors 8 weeks before last frost date. Plant multiple seeds into each container. Harden off seedlings before planting.
- Plant 2 per inch in rows 12-18” apart. To transplant, separate young plants and set 4-6” apart.
