Named for the spotted cows in the biblical story, this beautiful merlot-mottled bean was originally cultivated by the Passamaquoddy, an indigenous tribe in Maine. It’s now a go-to for northeastern baked beans as it grows well in cool summer climates.

- Germination: 7-21 days
- Maturity: 80 days
- Direct sow 1-1 ½” deep in full sun after danger of frost has passed. Beans need soil temperatures between 75-85° F to sprout.
- Space plants 3-4” apart; space row 2-3’ apart.
