A magnificent onion capable of weighing up to two pounds each! Rich, very sweet flavor that caramelizes beautifully. This long day favorite is best to enjoy fresh from your garden – not intended for long term storage.
- 150 seeds minimum
- Germination: 7-14 days
- Maturity: 100 days from transplant
- Direct sow ¼” deep in full sun as soon as soil can be worked. In northern climates, start indoors 8 weeks before last frost date. Plant multiple seeds into each container. Harden off seedlings before planting.
- Plant 2 seeds per inch in rows 12-18” apart. Thin to 4-6” apart for larger onions. To transplant, separate young plants and set 4-6” apart.

Phenomenal Flavor
Easy to grow like any onion. I wish I had grown more, as we are eating them very fast! The flavor is sweet and rich just as described. They are especially good roasted with other veggies.
