Originating in the 1800s, Mammoth Gold Pumpkins average 40-60 pounds, but can sometimes exceed 100 pounds. This irregularly shaped pumpkin is golden orange in color with shallow ribs and coarse but edible flesh.
- 15 seeds minimum
- Germination: 5-10 days
- Maturity: 90-120 days
- Direct sow ½-1” deep in full sun after last frost date when soil is at least 70F or start indoors 3-4 weeks before planting.
- Plant 4 seeds per hill; space hills 6’ apart
- Pumpkins should not be planted in soil where melons or cucumbers were recently grown.
