This robust Japanese heirloom can reach 7 pounds at full maturity. Like all Chinese cabbages, Kyoto 3 thrives in cooler temperatures. Crunchy-crisp and nutritious with a mild, sweet flavor, this barrel-shaped variety is great in slaws and salads. Stores well.
- 250 seeds minimum
- Germination: 7-14 days
- Maturity: 80 days
- Start indoors 6-8 weeks prior to last frost. Plant ¼” deep in seed starting mix. Transplant in direct sun 2-3 weeks before last frost. For fall harvest, direct sow 6-8 weeks before first frost.
- Space plants 18-24” apart; space rows 24-36” apart.
