This aromatic Indian grass is the plant behind the popular and multi-purpose lemongrass oil used in everything from food flavorings and cosmetics to teas and potpourris! An easy-to-grow perennial, Indian Lemongrass also makes a stately garden ornamental. Highly valued for its medicinal properties. Not frost tolerant. East Indian variety.
- 50 seeds minimum
- Germination: 7-21 days
- Maturity: 75-90 days
- Start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost. Gently press seeds into seed starting mix and cover with dome. Place in sunny location. Heat mat is highly recommended to facilitate germination. Keep lightly moist but not soggy. When seedlings are established, transplant into small pots and keep warm until all danger of frost has passed. Harden off and transplant when seedlings are 4” tall. In colder regions, plants can be potted for indoor overwintering.
