This red short day onion, bred at Texas A&M in the 1940s, matures quickly and tastes great! Red Grano is a prolific grower that prefers moist soil and 6” of growing space. Sweet, mild flavor and good storage.
- 250 seeds minimum
- Germination: 10-21 days
- Maturity: 180 days from transplant
- Direct sow 1/8” deep in full sun as soon as soil can be worked. In northern climates, start indoors 8 weeks before last frost date. Plant multiple seeds into each container. Harden off seedlings before planting.
- Plant 2 seeds per inch in rows 12-18” apart. Thin to 4-6” apart for larger onions. To transplant, separate young plants and set 6” apart.
