This old Italian heirloom yields compact, cream-colored heads with a uniquely sweet, nutty flavor. Crisp, round heads are packed with fractal-shaped flowerets that are delicious roasted, steamed, or raw.
- 100 seeds minimum
- Germination: 4-10 days
- Maturity: 70-75 days
- Direct sow ¼” deep outdoors 6-8 weeks before last frost date or indoors in early winter for spring transplant. Repeat in midsummer for an autumn harvest. Plant or transplant in direct sun.
- Space plants 18-24” apart in rows 2 ½-3’ apart.
- Requires cool temperatures and consistent moisture. Mulching helps.
