This hardy heirloom sports tasty greens with yellow veins to match its vibrant roots. Sweet and mild, a Detroit Golden won’t stain like red beets making it a perfect choice for canning and cooking alike.
- 200 seeds minimum
- Germination: 5-10 days
- Maturity: 50-55 days
- Direct sow ½” deep in full sun as soon as soil can be worked.
- Sow 12-15 seeds per foot; thin to 3" apart when seedlings are 1-2" tall. Plant rows 12" apart.
- Plant again in late summer for a fall harvest.

Burpees Golden Beet
I enjoyed these beets so much during the 2017 growing year. My family even likes these beets. They are good for any kind of use for beets that you can imagine. I'm going to give these much more room this year. I need to scout around for a good beet fertilizer as my soil isn't the greatest.
