This 1950 AAS winner yields super-sweet, giant fruits weighing up to 50+ pounds. Congo needs a good deal of space to stretch its long vines and thrives in warm summer temps with soil that drains extremely well.
- 25 seeds minimum
- Germination: 5-10 days
- Maturity: 90 days
- Direct sow ½-1” deep in full sun after last frost or start indoors 3-4 weeks prior to last frost. Harden off seedlings before planting. Watermelon seedlings prefer not to be disturbed; direct sow is suggested.
- Sow seeds 6” apart. Space plants 18” apart in rows 6-8’ apart.
