Developed in 1892, this long-favored heirloom produces robust, conical heads weighing up to 6 pounds. More heat tolerant than most, it is an excellent variety for Southern gardeners. Keeps well.
- 300 seeds minimum
- Germination: 7-14 days
- Maturity: 70 days
- Start indoors 6-8 weeks prior to last frost. Plant ½” deep in seed starting mix. Transplant in direct sun 2-3 weeks before last frost. For fall harvest, direct sow 6-8 weeks before first frost.
- Space plants 18-24” apart; space rows 24-36” apart.
