Native to North Africa and Europe and now naturalized in parts of North America, Centaury produces pointed pink flowers that are cherished both for their beauty and renowned medicinal benefits. Germination requires patience but is well worth the wait. Prefers well-drained, moderately fertile soil—avoid rich, wet conditions for best results. Mature plants reach 12-24" tall.

- Start seeds indoors 8 weeks before last frost. Press scattered seeds into seed starting mix. Water/mist gently after sowing. Do not overwater. When large enough to handle, transfer seedlings to small pots. Harden gradually when temperatures reach 70° F and transfer to partially shaded location. Direct sow well after last spring frost in partial shade when temperatures reach 70° F. Do not overwater. Prefers sandier, light soil that drains well.
