This mouthwatering endive or “escarole” with wide, curled leaves thrives in cooler temps. Batavian Broadleaf is tender, crunchy, and valued as a medicinal plant. Delicious sautéed or fresh from the garden.
- 250 seeds minimum
- Germination: 5-12 days
- Maturity: 60-85 days
- Direct sow 1/8-1/4" deep in full sun/partial shade two weeks before last frost and again in August for a fall harvest.
- Plant seeds 1" apart; rows 12" apart; thin seeds to 8-10" apart.
