Call it a lima bean or a butterbean, this very rare and delicious pole lima bean has been grown in Alabama for generations. It can be eaten fresh or dried, just be sure to use a sturdy trellis to support its large vines and prolific yield.
- 30 seeds minimum
- Germination: 7-10 days
- Maturity: 90-100 days
- Direct sow 1-1 ½” deep in full sun after danger of frost has passed. Beans need soil temperatures between 75-85° F to sprout.
- Space plants 3-6” apart; space row 2-3’ apart.
